Attempted Murder
Release Date/Time: 4/30/2021 11:24 AM On 4/30/2021 at 1:25 am, officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation with several gun shots detected in the 700 block of Jefferson St. As officers arrived, they received information of a victim of a gunshot, they located a female victim (48) suffering from a gunshot wound to her left bicep. A bullet had apparently traveled south through the residence and struck the victim while she was asleep in bed, the bullet narrowly missed her husband who was sleeping next to her. As officers conducted a check of the area, they located a second victim at the rear unit of the property. A male juvenile (17) was suffering from a gunshot wound to his torso. This victim appeared to be the intended target. He did not know why he was shot at. The victims were transported to the hospital, the injuries do not appear to be life threatening. The incident is under investigation.
