Release Date/Time: 12/29/2011 11:07 PM Officers were dispatched to a victim of a shooting at Chaparral / Ramona. When they arrived, they discovered the victim had already been transported to Natividad Medical Center by a neighbor. The victim, a 16 year old male had been on foot at the above location when a white full size pickup truck drove by. The passenger in the truck shot at the victim striking him twice in the upper body. The suspect/s shouted gang slogans just before the shooting. The victim was transported to the hospital and is listed in critical condition. The shooting is being investigated as gang related. Anyone with information related to the crime or who may have been a witness is encouraged to contact the detective division at 758-7226.
