Incident: Armed Robbery, Wells Fargo Bank

Officers responded to an armed robbery at the Wells Fargo Bank located at 1903 Natividad Rd. Two male suspects wearing dark ski masks entered the bank and demanded money from a teller at gunpoint. After receiving an undisclosed amount of money both suspects exited the bank and ran into a waiting vehicle with a third suspect driving. The suspect vehicle fled in a westbound direction on Arcadia. The vehicle, a blue Ford Focus, was later located unoccupied and it had previously been reported stolen.

Arriving officers surrounded the area and attempted to locate the fleeing suspects. Monterey County Probation officers assisted in the search as they were in the area to conduct a contact with a probationer who resides in the neighborhood. A juvenile they were attempting to contact ran from the probation officers and a foot pursuit ensued with the juvenile being apprehended after jumping over several fences in different residences. Investigating officers are trying to determine if this individual is associated with the bank robbery.

The two suspects who entered and robbed the bank are described as Hispanic male adults. Suspect #1 in his 20's, 5'7", 165 lbs was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with large white lettering of "LRG" to the front, dark pants and white tennis shoes. Suspect #2 is18-19 years old, 6'0", 180 lbs. wearing a tan or grey hooded sweatshirt with a white Rhino design to the front,blue jeans and black shoes. No description on the driver of the getaway vehicle was provided.

The investigation is continuing and Salinas Police Department is urging anyone who may have witnessed this incident to contact police at 758-7321 or to remain anonymous 775-4222
