Release Date/Time: 1/13/2012 9:18 PM The victim cab driver picked up a fare in the area of Bardin Rd. at Williams Rd. The lone passenger asked to be dropped off on Garner Ave. Upon arrival at the parking lot of 704 Garner, the victim heard what sounded like the slide of a semi-auto handgun being racked. He next felt an object being put against the back of his head. The suspect then demanded the driver's money. The victim complied handing over an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect became angry because the driver had no additional money. The suspect then ripped the GPS unit off of the inside windshield of the cab and took off running eastbound on Garner. He was described as an Hispanic male, 18 - 20 yrs, 5', 140 lbs., wearing all black and likely carrying a semi-auto handgun. Investigation continues. Release Authorized by: Commander Dan Perez |
