Release Date/Time: 1/15/2013 10:10 AM Officers responded to a call of an assault with a sledgehammer after a dispute which started after a vehicle had been parked blocking a driveway next to a car lot. Primo Auto Sales had a car blocking the driveway next to the business in the 700 block of E. Market St. The suspect, who did not live at the residence whose driveway was blocked, became upset. The suspect told the employees of Primo Auto Sales to move the vehicle or he was going to start smashing windows. Two workers went to move the vehicle. The suspect was holding a sledgehammer as he stood nearby. The suspect began to argue with the employees and the suspect struck the victim, (36), on the right side of the face with the sledgehammer. The victim was dazed but was able to grab the sledgehammer before the suspect struck him again. The suspect also punched the victim in the face. The victim had a large bump on the right side of the head from the sledgehammer,a cut above an eye and nose from the punches. The suspect fled in a light blue VW Passat prior to the arrival of officers, and no one at the residence knew the suspect.
