Salinas Police Officers responded to a shooting in the parking lot of Safeway on N. Main St. They found a 21-year-old male victim of a gunshot wound to his shoulder.  The victim had arrived at the shopping center and was parking near the Safeway.  He also had grazing wound to the back of his head.  The victim was alert, talking and was taken to a local hospital.  There, he was treated and released.  Preliminary investigation suggests the victim and passenger were sitting in their car when several shots were fired.  A dark pickup truck was seen leaving the area.  Officers located a vehicle matching that description in a home in North Salinas.  Salinas Police Officers searched two residences in connection with this pickup truck and questioned several people.  There are no people charged with this shooting at this time and this case is still under investigation.  It is unknown if this case is gang-related.
