The 25 year old victim and his wife were checking on a house for rent near the above location.  While he was on the porch of the rental property, he was approached by an unknown male. who fired several rounds from a hand gun at the victim.  The victim was flown to a Bay Area hospital for treatment of gunshot wounds to his lower torso, back and arm.  The wounds do not appear to be life threatening.   The suspect was described as a Hispanic male, 15 - 17 years old, 5'2" in height, 120 lbs, short hair, wearing a dark gray long-sleeve hooded sweater and red shorts. He ran toward Del Monte Ave and disappeared.  There were no independent witnesses to the crime.  The victim, who does not appear to be gang related, was wearing clothing similar to that of a Sureno gang member.  Any person with knowledge or information about this crime is urged to contact the Salinas Police Department.
