Release Date/Time: 11/6/2008 10:36 PM Salinas police responded to and initiated an investigation into what appears to be an attempted kidknapping. At about 7:50 to 8:00 P.M. a 16-year old female victim was walking home alone from Frank Paul School. While in the area of Antigua and La Cuesta, she was followed by the suspect. He was described as 17-19 year old male, 5-8/10, medium built, light complexion; wearing a White shirt, Gray hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. He began to follow the victim in the same direction he had his truck parked. As they reached the truck, he grabbed her backpack and pulled her towards him. The victim shed the backpack and the suspect then tried to grab her, but she ran to a nearby residence and sought help. The suspect then walked towards the victim, but when he saw someone open the door, he entered his truck and fled. The suspect vehicle was described as a White, newer GMC or Chevy truck, probably a lifted version, with a silver toolbox in the bed. Anyone with information is asked to call Salinas Police.
