Officers responded to a call of a shooting victim. They located a 28 year-old male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the torso. During the investigation officers learned that the victim was at a friend's apartment when he answered a knock at the front door. The suspect fled the area after the shooting. The victim was flown to San Jose for treatment. Detectives responded and took over the investigation. The Salinas Police Department is investigating this crime as possibly gang motivated.
