Officers responded to the above address for a burglary alarm. When the first officer arrived he found Francisco Villa (38) attempting to burglarize a parked vehicle in the lot. When the officer confronted Villa he discarded a hammer and ran. The officer chased Villa, but lost sight of him in the Traveler Inn parking lot. With the assistance of a police K-9 officers located Villa hiding in a truck in the parking lot. Villa was taken into custody without further incident. It appears that Villa had struck the business window first setting off the alarm. When the glass did not break he turned his attention to the parked vehicle. Villa was booked for the listed charges. We will be examining recent reported burglaries for similarities.
