There have been several reported thefts of Lotto scratchers from conveniences stores in Salinas. Last week one of our officers put out a county wide flier with surveillance photos of the suspect. A Monterey officer recognized the suspect as Anthony Plese (26) of Salinas. Plese would enter the stoire and ask for several different Lotto scratchers. When the clerk placed the scratchers on the counter Plese would grab the scratchers and run from the store. This morning Salinas PD officers conducted a surveillance at Plese's residence. Ultimately officers made contact at the residence. The family was cooperative and Plese was arrested. At the completion of the investigation Plese was identified as the suspect on two cases in Salinas, one case in Seaside and one in Monterey. Plese was booked for four counts of burglary.
