Throughout Rodeo week the Violence Suppression Unit conducted 8 Ceasefire related probation and parole searches. Today VSU and agents from FBI, ATF, ICE, Parole, and Probation conducted 14 more probation and parole searches in support of Ceasefire and in response to the recent violence in the city. Officers conducted a probation search on Uriel Gonzales (26). The search revealed items of gang indicia, and alcohol in violation of his probation terms. Gonzales was not present at the time and the case is being forwarded to the probation office for violation.

The last search of the evening was Oscar Pachardo (29). As officers arrived at Pachardo's apartment, #22, they observed him exit apartment  #20 and lock it with a key. Pachardo was challenged as he was entering his apartment and he handed the keys to his wife Denise Quiroz (23). Pachardo denied having been in apartment #20 and Quiroz denied any knowledge of the keys. The keys were eventually found on Quiroz. Officers conducted a search of apartment #20 and located a .22 caliber rifle, ballistic vest, and a bag full of ammunition. Pachardo was booked in the Monterey County Jail, and Quiroz was issued a citation for obstructing the investigation.
