The Salinas Police Department, in partnership with P.A.R.T.S. / S.T.E.P.S. ,(Preventing Alcohol Related Trama in Salinas & Safe Teens Empowerment Project of Salinas) will be conducting a DUI checkpoint during the evening hours of Friday June 13, 2008 at an undisclosed location in the city of Salinas. This DUI checkpoint is purposely conducted during the graduation season in an attempt to reduce the amount of drinking and driving that is associated with graduation celebrations. The DUI checkpoint is also aimed at educating the public, particularly teenagers, about the dangers of drinking and driving. |
