Release Date/Time: 6/2/2008 3:07 PM We received a call from the Alisal Union School District office indicating that they had one of their school bus drivers in custody for DUI. Investigation revealed that Frankie Mata, age 48, had completed his morning bus route when the school district conducted a random drug and alcohol check. He, along with other bus drivers, were tested and it was discovered that he was under the influence of alcohol. The school district then notified us and we took him into custody. During the investigation we learned that Mata had transported as many as 50 students on his bus just prior to the random drug/alcohol test. As a result he was charged with child endangerment and DUI and lodged at Monterey County Jail. Release Authorized by: Commander Robert Eggers |
