Incident: DUI/Hit and Run/Child Endangerment Report #: 09-120855 Date: Wednesday, 12/16/2009 Time: 3:52 AM Location: 726 South Main Street - Salinas High School Salinas Police Officers were dispatched to the area of Salinas High School regarding a hit and run that occurred in front of the school. When Officers arrived, they found a tree that was planted in front of the school had been hit and knocked down. Officers were able to locate the suspect vehicle and driver, Laura Lane (30), at the 7-Eleven Store located approximately 1 block North of the school. Lane was extremely intoxicated and unable to perform Field Sobriety Tests. She also refused to cooperate with the investigation. Her 10-year-old son was also in the vehicle at the time of the collision. Child Protective Services was contacted and the child was released to the care of a family member. Lane was booked into the Monterey County Jail for DUI, hit and run, and child endangerment charges.
