DUI and Driver's License Checkpoint

On Friday March 18, 2011 the Salinas Police Department will be conducting a DUI and driver's license checkpoint in the city of Salinas.  The checkpoint will be in operation from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM.  The checkpoint will be looking for individuals who are driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, as well as drivers who are driving unlicensed or with a suspended/revoked license. 

This checkpoint, and other DUI enforcement related activities throughout the year, is made possible due to a DUI enforcement and awareness grant the police department received in late 2010.  The California Office of Traffic Safety funds the DUI enforcement and awareness through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
