Release Date/Time: 11/30/2009 6:19 PM Maria Anaya (83) was struck by a pickup truck traveling on Central Avenue at the intersection with West Street. Anaya sustained head injuries and she was taken to a bay area trauma center, where she died hours later. It appears Anaya tried to cross the street and walked directly into the path of the oncoming pickup truck driven by a (65) year old female. Although the case is still under investigation, the driver of the pickup did not appear to be under the influence.
