Incident: Felony Hit and Run-Veh. vs Ped, DUI, Pursuit

A 60-year old male was crossing the street in front of 58 Natividad Rd. He was not in a crosswalk and this area is very dark. A white, 2003 Cadillac Escalade struck the victim and then fled at a high rate of speed, Southbound on Natividad Rd. Officers assigned to the "Avoid The 20" DUI enforcement effort located the suspect vehicle at Main St. and Market St. A pursuit ensued, which ended with the suspect stopping at E. Gabilan and California St. Juan Pacheco Hernandez (52) was arrested at the scene. Hernandez has multiple prior arrests for DUI and when tested tonight, was twice the legal limit. The victim suffered injuries to his hip, legs and a serious laceration and contusion to his head. He was airlifted to San Jose, his condition unknown at this time.
