The victims (husband & wife) were contacted on the phone announcing they had just won 2nd place on an International Sweepstake. However, in order to collect the $500,000 2nd place prize, they had to send money through Money Gram for what the suspect described as legal fees and related taxes. The suspects kept contacting the victims with new requirements, each having to do with more money to be sent. Overall, the victims sent thousands of dollars to the suspects to an unknown location out of the country.
