Rafael Garcia (24) was was driving a white 1991 Honda Accord northbound on Riker when he failed to negotiate the bend in the road in the 500 block. He drove over the sidewalk and struck a vehicle in the driveway of 541 Riker Street. Garcia drove back out onto the street and struck another parked vehicle at the curb. Garcia continued northbound until he drove up onto the sidewalk again striking the stop sign at Riker Street and Clay Street. Witnesses tried to follow, but lost him in traffic. Garcia made it to 1168 Alamo Way where he struck a third parked vehicle. He continued to Alamo Way and Las Casitas Drive where he struck a fourth vehicle parked at the curb. Garcia then continued to 1137 Durango Street where he struck a fifth parked vehicle. Officers caught up to him and took into custody on Durango Street. Garcia was found to be driving under the influence of prescription medication. His license was suspended, he had no proof of insurance and he was on probation. Garcia was booked for DUI, six counts of hit and run, driving on a suspended license, driving without insurance and probation violation.
