On December 2, 2009, at approximately 5:30am, officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 18000 blk of Lohman St. Officers found the victim, 25 year-old Jose Espinoza, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Officers and medical personnel rendered aid to Espinoza but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

 

It appears that Espinoza, who lives in the area, was going to his car to go to work when he was shot. Witnesses described the suspect as a male, dressed in dark clothing and was last scene running eastbound on Lohman St. toward Eisenhower St. There also maybe a vehicle involved and was described as a dark colored sedan. At this time, the case is being investigated as a gang related homicide.
