Incident: Impersonating an Officer, Violation of Probation
Report #: 10-080141
Date: Wednesday, 8/11/2010
Time: 1:57 AM
Location: 222 Lincoln Ave.

Last week, Officers took a report from several residents of the Nantucket Bay Apartments who complained about the private security company at their complex. They claimed a security officer had been conducting vehicle stops with a red light and issuing parking citations. Jacob Rogers (Age 21), from Coastline Security Company was identified as the person involved. The Santa Cruz Market had also called the previous week to complain about an unknown security officer who entered the store, patted down several juveniles, and escorted them outside before releasing them. The store does not contract for security services and reported the incident. The investigation revealed that Rogers was responsible for the above mentioned activities. It was also discovered that Rogers and another associate had started a private security company but had not yet obtained the necessary licensing from the state. Rogers had obtained trial contracts with the Nantucket Bay Apartments and the Salinas Bay Apartments.

Rogers is currently on probation for impersonating a police officer in 2008. He was booked into the Monterey County Jail for impersonating an officer as well as violation of probation.
