Salinas Police Officer Brandon Hill is scheduled to retire on Friday, June 27, 2008 after 30 years of dedicated Law Enforcement service with the Salinas Police Department. Officer Hill began his Law Enforcement career with the Salinas Police Department as a Reserve Officer before being hired full-time on August 14, 1978.
Officer Hill worked as a Patrol Officer, DUI Officer, Motor Officer, and Community Resource Officer. Officer Hill was the Salinas Police Department’s PAL Executive Director for 4 years.
Officer Hill is a past President of the Monterey County Peace Officer Association (MCPOA). He has volunteered many hours with numerous community groups.
Officer Hill has received two life saving awards from the MCPOA during his career. In 1980, Officer Hill saved the life of a heart attack victim by administering CPR. In 2001, Officer Hill saved the life of a suicidal person who jumped over the edge a bridge on South Sanborn Road. Officer Hill held onto the person, as he dangled off of the bridge, until additional help could arrive.
Officer Brandon Hill’s retirement celebration will be held on Friday, June 27, 2008 at 7:30 AM in the City of Salinas Rotunda Building, located in front of City Hall. The public and media are invited to attend. |
