On August 31, 2010, Federal, State, and local law enforcement agencies served search warrants and arrest warrants at numerous locations in the City of Visalia, Tulare County area, and the Salinas Area. Operation "Street Sweeper" was a 4-month long investigation involving the distribution of drugs, guns, collection of "taxes" on drug sales, and street violence by the Nuestra Familia Gang.
The Salinas Police Department assisted in Operation "Street Sweeper" and made the following arrests:
Philip Sparks (Age 33) was arrested at his residence on Freemont Way in the City of Hollister.
Armando Valle (Age 36) was arrested at the Home Depot in the City of Watsonville.
Both Sparks and Valle were arrested on federal warrants for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and cocaine in the Kings County, Fresno County, Kern County, and elsewhere.
