Members of the Violence Suppression Unit recognized Bicente Carasco (27) in his car in the Lamplighter Trailor Park. Officers recognized him as a gang member who is on parole.  Officers contacted him in order to conduct a parole search.  As officers approached his vehicle on foot Carasco fled. A pursuit ensued that led to hwy 101. Carasco led officers on the pursuit, on the shoulder of the highway.  The pursuit ended on San Juan Road at Allison Road, just outside Watsonville. On San Miguel Canyon Road  the Monterey County Joint Gang Task Force took over the pursuit due to radio communication problems. Carasco had a felony parole warrant. Carasco was booked into the Monterey County Jail for the outstanding warrant and the felony evading.
