Release Date/Time: 12/8/2009 2:11 PM Salinas Police Officers responded to the 1100 block of East Laurel Drive regarding shots being fired in the area. A witness also reported seeing two males running on East Laurel Drive from the rear of the KK Market. As Officers arrived in the area, they observed a parked vehicle with the windows fogged up and a subject, later identified as Humberto Ramirez (21), standing directly outside the vehicle. As Officers made contact with Ramirez, the right front passenger, Jonathan Lara (19), stepped out of the vehicle. Both were nervous and wearing Sureno gang apparel. Officers looked inside of the vehicle and located a magazine for a weapon. A search of the vehicle revealed a Marlin .22 caliber rifle and a bullet. Both Ramirez and Lara were arrested without incident and booked into the Monterey County Jail. Release Authorized by: Lalo Villegas |
