On Friday, January 6, 2012 at 4:00 pm the Salinas Police Department will be holding a ceremony to celebrate the promotion of Sergeant David Crabill to the rank of Commander and Detective James Godwin to the rank of Sergeant.  The ceremony will be held in the Salinas City Hall Rotunda.

Sergeant Crabill has been an officer for 26 years.  He served with the King City Police Department for two years prior to coming to work for the Salinas Police Department.  He has served with the Salinas Police Department for the last 24 years.  During his career he has worked in the patrol division, Field Training Unit, Violence Suppression Unit, School Resource Unit, Narcotics Unit and SWAT Team.  Detective Godwin has been an officer for 15 years.  He served with the Monterey County Sheriff's Department for five years prior to coming to work for the Salinas Police Department.  He has served with the Salinas Police Department for the last 10 years.  He has worked in the patrol division, Field Training Unit, Violence Suppression Unit, SWAT Team, and General Investigations.
