Release Date/Time: 7/19/2010 11:33 AM Officers were alerted to a report of a stolen vehicle that had just occurred in the 1400 block of Tehama Circle. The vehicle, a Nissan 240, was located by officers driving northbound on Eldorado Drive towards Boronda Road. A traffic stop was initiated at San Juan Grade Road and Northridge Way. The vehicle initially stopped and then took off and a pursuit ensued through the residential streets of Northridge Estates. At the intersection of Taylor and Van Buren, the vehicle spun out at which time the driver and passenger, later identified as Joshua Silva, 23 yrs., ran in opposite directions. Officers chased after Silva and caught up to him as he was trying to jump over a fence. Silva was tased and taken into custody. The driver escaped and was not found. Silva had several shaved keys in his possession and was found to be on probation. Silva was booked into Monterey County Jail for possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of burglary tools, resisting arrest, and violation of probation.
