Release Date/Time: 7/17/2010 2:34 AM The 17 year old male victim was standing in the 600 block of E. Alisal talking on his cell phone when he was approached by two 16 year old males and Ruben Prado, 18. One of the 16 year olds pointed a knife at the victim and robbed him of his cell phone. After the three took the cell phone and fled on foot the victim called police and an officer who was in the area located the three suspects within two blocks of the scene. Upon contact the three attempted to dispose of the knife and cell phone. The three suspects all had ties to local street gangs. During the booking process Prado threatened the officers. All three were booked for robbery, participating in a gang crime, and conspiracy. Prado was additionally charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor and threatening police officers.
