Join us Saturday, August 14th from 1-4pm as we kick off a day of fun with a blessing of the animals at 1pm, followed by pet portraits, a canned pet food drive, coloring contest, and of course, adoptable pets! There will also be drawings throughout the event for hot ticket items like an iPOD Touch, weekend wine tasting getaways, and more. Bring a donation of canned cat or dog food and receive one drawing ticket. Leashed or crated pets are welcome. Have you adopted from the Salinas Animal Shelter? Then we want a picture of your happy pet for our celebratory timeline display! If you have adopted from Salinas Shelter, please send in a picture of your pet (with adoption info. and name of you and your pet) to: animalshelter@ci.salinas.ca.us or regular mail to 222 Lincoln Avenue, Salinas, CA 93901. You can also bring it in Tuesday – Saturday from 12-5pm. Hey Kids! We’re having a coloring contest for you! To enter our Coloring Contest for the 10-year Anniversary, please download and print the Pets Coloring page from our website http://www.ci.salinas.ca.us/services/animalservices/animalservices.cfm and bring to the Anniversary Party or send it to 222 Lincoln Ave., Salinas, CA 93901 before August 14th. The winner is to be selected on day of the event and you do not need to be present to win. Salinas Animal Services is located at 144 Hitchcock Road in Salinas and is the second shelter on Hitchcock Road. The shelter takes in about 3900 lost and stray animals from within the City limits of Salinas each year, as well as enforces animal regulations and licensing requirements.
