Release Date/Time: 2/22/2010 11:39 AM Salinas Police Officers received information that a 2005 Honda Pilot was just stolen from the under 100 block of Gardenia Dr. An Officer observed the stolen vehicle near the intersection of E. San Luis and Pajaro St. and followed it until it pulled into a business near the intersection of Monterey St and John St. When a vehicle stop was initiated, the suspect and sole occupant of the vehicle , Roger Storment, 37 yrs., drove off and a pursuit ensued. Storment crashed into an occupied vehicle at Pajaro St and San Luis St, which caused an injury to the driver and also sheered off a nearby telephone pole. Storment continued eastbound on San Luis and collided with three more parked and unoccupied vehicles. He crashed into a fourth and final unoccupied vehicle at San Luis and Front St and then fled the crash on foot. Storment tried to enter the rear door of a nearby locked house and was then taken into custody without further incident. The extent of injuries for the occupant of the vehicle that Storment collided with are unknown at this time. Storment was transported to the hospital for treatment of an unspecified injury and then to the Monterey County Jail where he was lodged for the above charges.
