Release Date/Time: 9/1/2010 4:26 PM The 6-year old victim is still in serious condition and remains in a bay area hospital. Detectives have concluded the shooting to be accidental. The 6-year old victim went into his parents' bedroom and found a 12-gauge shotgun located underneath the bed. The 12-year old brother had found the victim in possession of the shotgun and attempted to take it away from him. It was during this time that the shotgun went off, accidently shooting the 6-year old. The investigation is being submitted to the Monterey County District Attorney's Office for their review and possible charges being filed against the parents for improper storage of a firearm. At this time there are no criminal charges being filed against the 12-year old boy.
