Release Date/Time: 1/8/2013 9:06 AM The homicide victim from yesterdays shooting at Acosta Plaza has been identified as Manuel Martinez Leon (47) a Salinas resident. Leon was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced deceased at the scene. At this time, it does not appear the victim had any gang affiliation at all. Residents from the neighborhood reported hearing multiple gunshots and observed a male individual running from the area immediately after the shooting. This possible suspect was described as an unknown race male 5'8", 18-23 years old, thin build with a light complexion and wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and a red beanie. Salinas Police Department is asking anyone with information related to this incident to notify police at (831)758-7321 or to remain anonymous (831) 775-4222.
