Officers were summoned to an apartment complex in the 100 block of Orchard Ave. due to a subject breaking into a car in one of the carports. Officers arrived and Police K-9 Nero alerted on the vehicle occupied by Hector Diaz. 27 yrs. Diaz was coming out of the car at the time and was detained. Investigation revealed that Diaz used the victim's tools in the car to remove the stereo from the dash. He gave several different names until brought to the station where his true identity was learned. He was lodged at the Monterey County Jail for Burglary and other charges.
