Location: 85 Maryal (Boys & Girls Club parking lot)
An anonymous person reported that a Hispanic male associated with a light colored 4 door vehicle was breaking into a red Chevy Tahoe in the parking lot of the Boys and Girls Club. The victim vehicle was one of many parked there while a concert was occurring at the Sports Complex. A Salinas Police Officer found the suspect vehicle coming out of the parking lot and stopped it. The Officer observed a stolen car stereo on the floorboard of the vehicle driven by Francisco Serrano, 30 yrs. It was determined that the car stereo did in fact come from the vehicle pointed out by the anonymous citizen. It was determined that the two passengers in Serrano's vehicle did not participate in the vehicle burglary. One of Serrano's passengers, Fernando Tinajero, 28 yrs old, was in possession of a methamphetamine pipe and was eventually cited out. The second passenger was released with no charges. Serrano, who was on parole, was booked into the County Jail for burglary and a parole violation.
