Embezzlement Arrest/Search Warrant
Release Date/Time: 1/18/2012 12:11 AM In July of 2011, International Produce Group, located in Salinas, reported a possible embezzlement by a long time employee. The company believed their office manager of nine years, Michelle Lem (age 42), was using the company credit cards for her personal benefit. The investigation showed that from January 2010 to May 2011, Lem had embezzled approximately $150,000 in merchandise and cash. On January 17th, detectives served search warrants at a Lem's current residence in the 400 blk of Riker St. and a her former residence in the under 100 blk of Homestead Ave. Lem was taken into custody at the Riker St. address without incident. Several items were recovered from both locations that had been purchased with the fraudulent proceeds. These items included electronics, a washer and dryer and a large gun safe, just name a few.
